With 20+ years of real estate experience and over $2.1B in transaction volume, Adam identifies value-oriented, institutional-quality real estate investment opportunities. Since 2015, Adam has led The BAM Companies to become an operations-focused firm that delivers proven performance through calculated risk management, forward-thinking strategy, and maximized returns. Before partnering with Ivan Barratt, Adam was a multifamily investment broker for Cushman & Wakefield. An active community member, Adam serves on the board of directors for the Indiana Apartment Association and the Indianapolis chapter of Legatus, the Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary advisory board, the Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology board of overseers, and the Marian University Board of Trustees. He formerly served on the San Damiano Scholarship Program selection committee, the SON Foundation board of directors, and as chairperson for St. John’s Indy.

Ivan is a multifamily owner, fund manager, and syndicator specializing in large apartment communities in the Midwest. Since 2015, Ivan Barratt has raised over $500M in equity, acquired over 10,000 units, and had over $1.85B in transaction volume. His company, The BAM Companies, has grown into a best-in-class, eight-time Inc. 5000, private equity and management firm with numerous cultural awards. Today, Ivan focuses on equity finance, acquisitions, and company strategy. Ivan is an active member of YPO, the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), and The Penrod Society (a not-for-profit arts organization), and is a former Indiana Apartment Association board member. He enjoys public speaking and has been on countless podcasts discussing real estate, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. Ivan lives in Carmel, IN, with his wife and three children.

Ivan Barratt, Founder & CEO
Jim has over 35 years of experience in real estate accounting and finance. Prior to joining The BAM Companies, Jim held CFO positions at three prominent Chicago firms: Miglin-Beitler, Pearlmark Real Estate Partners, and Home Partners of America. His experience at these firms encompassed over $5B of gross investments, $600M of equity raised, and $1.4B of debt financing. Jim was actively involved in deal structuring as a member of the investment committees.
In 2016, Jim co-founded North Wells Capital, an investment and development firm backed by a Chicago-based family office. Jim’s experience spans private equity, institutionally backed startups, and family offices. He has a proven track record in capital markets, deal sourcing, strategy, and finance.
As CFO for The BAM Companies, Jim oversees financial strategy and planning, accounting and reporting, tax and audit management, treasury management, and strategic partnerships. Jim holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and is an inactive CPA.
As the Chief Operating Officer for The BAM Companies, Emilee is primarily responsible for aligning business goals with operational capabilities to drive growth and ensure seamless execution of key initiatives. Emilee has been instrumental in optimizing resources, championing employee programs, and fostering a culture of collaboration that supports the company’s long-term vision.
Emilee brings over 15 years of experience across a variety of fields that have given her a deep understanding of the intersection between people and processes. At The BAM Companies, she oversees HR, internal operations, and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring that the organization remains agile and well-positioned for ongoing success. Emilee has been involved in capital transactions totaling over $2B.
Emilee holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Southern Indiana and an MBA from Butler University. Before joining The BAM Companies in 2015, Emilee worked in banking and commercial real estate. Emilee lives in Zionsville with her husband and four children and enjoys traveling, live music, and being a theater mom.
Greg leads the legal department and provides legal support and advice to all departments within the BAM Companies. Greg has over ten years of experience in real estate transactional work, focusing on commercial real estate and financing transactions. Immediately prior to his role as General Counsel, Greg served as the Associate General Counsel at The BAM Companies.
Greg has experience in all aspects of real estate including purchase and sale agreement preparation and negotiation, legal due diligence, leasing and financing. He has served as counsel for the acquisition and disposition of multifamily and commercial assets with a collective transactional value in excess of $250M.
Greg received his bachelor’s degree from Depauw University and his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. He is an active member in The Penrod Society, a not-for- profit arts organization, and the Real Estate and Business Sections of the Indianapolis Bar Association. When away from the office, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife, Erika, and his two sons, Dominic and Theo.
